Introduction

Teak sapling at Leaves and Lizards

The EcoMap Costa Rica website documents an ecological study of the reforestation sites by the University of Dallas Biology Department. The field work is being performed by University of Dallas students as a part of their Field Ecology class. Field sites are on the Leaves and Lizards Arenal Volcano Cabin Retreat in Costa Rica.

This site will document the 2008 field season, and include panoramic photographs and interactive maps of field data. Future field seasons will produce similar data, allowing comparisons to be made. The reforestation project started in 2007, so this chance allows a rare possibility to chart rainforest recovery from the very beginning.
